Sorry I wasn't in class Friday, I was stuck in the deans office because my shirt was SUPER offensive (plain green shirt), and I got a referral. I love how this school cares more about the dress code than actual academics. So what did I miss Friday?
Hahaha good times in the deans office together! It's funny because we both got in trouble for wearing the same shirt. Can't wait to see marsico's reaction on monday. Between both of our parents the school might hate us.
Oh come on ladies. I am sure the incident was frustrating and in your eyes pointless, you were not punished for your green shirt my dear, but your inability to decipher the dress code and follow it :) I hear ya. I really do. But I certainly see both sides.
well at least you were sent to the dean for a reason! fri i got sent because i finished my spanish 2 test too quickly and mrs hamby flipped out so i tested into a spanish 4 class.
Oh Ms Jones, we clearly understand the dress code. My parents read the dress code and analyzed it. They even said it is NOT clear enough. Halee had a cover up over her shirt, but it didn't have buttons on it. No where in the dress code does it say that the "jacket" has to have buttons/zipper on it. It also makes NO sense that the cheerleaders can wear their skimpy little shirts to school that show their stomachs. I don't care that the shirts (which are not even shirts in my eyes, they are more like wearing nothing) are Laney related, they are not appropriate in any school environment. So technically we were following the dress code. If they want to tell us that we weren't following it, then they need to make it clearer.
Hannah I completley agree. We understand the rules, but we would rather go to school looking nice instead of wearing a t-shirt. The cheerleaders broke about every rule that the dress code says, how is that fair? Shawna that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! I don't understand how they're even allowed to do that.

I am glad you feel this way because it shows maturity in the way you present yourself, but no matter what you would RATHER do, you have follow the rules dearies!
I have had issue with the cheerleaders' attire as well, once a dress code was agreed upon I felt ALL students should follow it, but as it is Laney attire, it apparently works.
I even fought for the allowance of plain t-shirts as a ease measure, meaning it's just plain easy to buy, wear, and recognize as "in" dress code. But as I was outnumbered, I have to follow and support what was agreed upon. There is a meeting coming up where we will discuss (we as in the dress code committee) fall and winter issues, so I will bring up that the code needs to specify must have a button or zipper that allows closure.
I am sorry that you both had to deal with this, I really am. I hate that kids who ordinarily would be in class and doing fine are pulled out along with purposefully insubordinate kids who are wearing inappropriate and/or offensive clothing. But as I have to follow rules I do not agree with because they are indeed rules, so do you I guess.

ReplyDeleteI'm sure they do, but the feeling is mutual because I hate Laney. I can't wait to switch schools.
